About the event

Thousands of people are expected to attend marking 205 years since March 25, 1821, the startof the Greek Revolution for liberation from the Ottoman Turkish yoke.


The annual Greek Parade is being organized under the auspices of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York, with Louis Katsos serving as General Chairman and leading a forty-five-member parade committee.


The theme of our parade is the 205/250th Anniversaries of two revolutions united by the enduring ideals of freedom, self-determination, and civic virtue.

In 1917, the Society was formed to help the villagers who came from Greece to start a new life in America.  Since then, the society aims to preserve the culture, ethnicity, and customs we brought here to pass on to future generations.
